Meet the Basset Hound

Basset Hounds have a reputation of being very lazy, having long ears and droopy eyes.  While they may have long ears and droopy eyes many are NOT lazy.  When looking to adopt a Basset Hound keep in mind that puppies and young Bassets are VERY active and need a playmate with lots of exercise to keep them out of trouble.  If you are looking for a more laid back Basset Hound you may want to look to at an older hound.

Did we mention that Basset Hounds and Bloodhounds can be very stubborn?  It helps to have patience in training your hound.  There are many great publications along with dog trainers that can assist you in your new endeavor!
